Yesterday was a pretty big day for my family. For the first time in over a year, the kids were able to go to my parents house to visit and play. We have been super-careful since the beginning of all of this, and that has meant minimal interaction with my parents. (Back in normal life, the kids used to see my parents after school pretty much every day, so this has been really difficult on all of us.) Now that everyone is vaccinated it feels like it is probably safe to relax a little bit.
Anyway after school my mom picked the kids up and took them back to their house, where the kids had a really good time. It was also a welcome break for my wife and me to have someone else looking after the kids for a little while. We're going to try to do this once or twice a week for the remainder of the school year assuming things continue to feel relatively safe.
